Dear researchers,

I am currently working on the synthesis of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) following the procedure reported in Article Synthesis of multi-color fluorescent carbon quantum dots and...

“Synthesis of multi-color fluorescent carbon quantum dots and solid state CQDs@SiO2 nanophosphors for light-emitting devices” (Ceramics International, 2019, by Song et al.).

When I reproduced the reported conditions, the red-CQDs solution appeared red in daylight but emitted blue under UV light, while the yellow-CQDs showed green emission instead of yellow. This discrepancy occurred consistently, even after repeating the synthesis.

Has anyone experienced similar results, or could anyone suggest possible reasons for this deviation? Could it be due to solvent purity, slight variations in reaction temperature/time, or other critical details not fully described in the paper?

I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions to help resolve this issue. Thank you.
