Modelling pollutant dispersion in urban centers need street level meteorological data. Whereas much of the research in this field is carriedout using met data from stations far away from study area or with general meteorological details.
Are there any urban air pollutant studies conducted using street level met data by considering the canyon effects of buildings.
I am a bit uncertain as to the exact nature of the question. I have written my Ph.D. on street canyon air pollution modelling (http://findresearcher.sdu.dk/portal/files/118859509/Thor_Bj_rn_Ottosen.pdf). In many of the studies mentioned in the thesis, meteorological measurements in the city are used as input to the model. My question was on met whether the met data used for urban air pollutant dispersion modelling is carried out using street level data or general met station data. In latter case it does not reflect actual street level conditions.
The met input used for urban air pollutant dispersion modelling is (usually) calculated based on measured meteorology at an urban mast. See more details in the link in my last answer.
For whatever it may be worth, I thought I'd mention the work of Dr. Yifang Zhu, originally from China, later a faculty member at Texas A&M University, and presently a medical/medical engineering faculty member at UCLA's school of medicine and public health who has conducted extensive research on air pollution in Chinese cities and American cities. Her specialty seems to be developing sophisticated new measuring and monitoring tools and techniques to track dispersion and human ingestion of pollutants at the street level, near freeways, etc. I suspect that her Chinese research studies in particular are sensitive to the urban canyon issue. She also has been a leader in developing ways to monitor UFP (ultra-fine particles) exposure and ingestion. Her articles explain how UFPs chiefly result from engine compression--hence normal operation of heavy diesel engines as well as rapid acceleration by conventional internal combustion engines, as in start-and-stop driving typical of the urban environment. [It looks like she's moved on to studying e-cigarettes now.]

Both US EPA and the US Army (Dugway Proving Ground in Utah) have conducted extensive urban dispersion modelling studies with both real and modelled buildings.
