Wondering if anyone would be able to help me with my masters project. I am looking to run a Two-way ANOVA test in SPSS. I am currently looking at gender (male and female - two levels) and age (three levels) as my fixed factors and toe walking data (as my dependent variable) that was collected using a 3D Vicon Motion system. However, i only have 14 participants (5 male and 9 female) meaning i have unequal sample sizes. Is there anyway around this when conducting this test in SPSS? or would i need to choose another parametric test to identify the relation and interactions of gender and age with the data i have collected.

Unequal sample sizes are not an issue in ANOVA unless that affects the assumption of equal variances in each subgroup.

Thanks for your response. I (think) my data for each participant is equal in variance as the numbers range from 107 to 146. Would this make sense?
Therefore if i have an unequal sample size in the 3 age groups but equal variance i could just add a bonferroni post hoc test when running my two-way anova?
There is an explicit test for equality of variances that you should find as an option in whatever analysis program you are using.

Besides the poor sample size (I would not trust such results anyway....), you mentioned age groups? Why is age not handled as a metric variable? It almost certain that this will lead to power losses (and with your sample size you should try everything....).
