I have two questions concerning the acoustic analysis of sentence stress in English:
1. Will the results be similar (or different only to a small degree) if I analyse the mean f0 of the whole syllable or the f0 at the mid-point of the vowel?
2. I found some analyse the stressed syllable of the stressed word in the sentence, but some analyse the whole stressed word. Which is better practice?

English prosody, including strees, is marked by contrasts in amplitude, duration, pitch, and pause. These vary in salience and frequency of use. Syllabic vs. word stress depend upon context, including syntax and morphological markers.
