I ran two different models (pushover analysis of 1.7 m H-steel). 1st model was based on Von mises failure criterion and the second model was based on Tesca failure criterion. When I compare the outputs, The model with Tresca gave me higher maximum load compared with that of Von-mises. Did anyone compare these two failure criterions? In Tresca model, Steel material was defined as follow:  In plasticity Tab: 0 friction angle, 0 dilation angle, and in Cohesion Tab: yield stresses and plastic strains were defined as follow:  first pair: (325 MPa;0), second pair: (490;0.18), third pair: (470;0.3). Yield stress for the material used in both models is 325 MPa. however, when I plot stress-strain relationships in tresca model, the material goes and yield around 700 MPa, is that normal that tresca produces higher stresses?  How do you guys define Tresca for steel material in Abaqus?
