I understand that you presented ASCOT trial at ESC2018 to the effect that hypertension should be treated with anti-hypertensive agents and statins. You might be interested to know that in the year 2000, I published an article showing plaque stabilization/regression when treatment goals involving hypertension and dyslipidemia were achieved. The article was in the Journal of Cardiovascular Risk, 2000; 7:415-423. It is available on m y website at www.bowlinggreenstudy.org, which is free and open to all. Alternately, I should be able to send it to you. I also presented a poster, now under consideration for publication by the Lancet, at the 2018 symposium of the International Atherosclerosis Society in Toronto showing how the interplay of hypertension and dyslipidemia, stratified by cigarette smoking, can predict the population at risk of atherothrombotic disease with high accuracy. I will try to present the poster at EAS 2019 in Maastricht as well.
