it's kind of late answer, although may be useful for everyone in the future. What I usually do, I look up for travel grants on websites of societies that I am a member of, e.g.

or 

http://www.bacg.co.uk/index.php/conferences-meetings-awards/sponsorship-and-grants

Travel grants are usually £500, and it covers most of the costs of the conference.
