I'm trying to complete the list of top 10 papers of the last decade on urban history and development of cities. I'm mostly interested in historical and geographical perspective on 19th and 20th centuries in Europe (vide Historical GIS, Historical Towns Atlases, etc.) but appreciate other suggestions.

Pawan Thapa , thank you very much for your feedback. I probably forgot to mention that I look for journal articles rather than books. They usually are of more general nature, I was thinking about studies of particular cities, such as Article A GIS Approach to Urban History: Rome in the 18th Century
Some Journal of Urban History articles were already on my list but I'd definitely consider the one you had sent. Thank you.

I have found some interesting papers in Geosciences or International Journal of Geo-Information but look forward to other suggestions as well.
