The Open Access publishing movement has opened the gate to ingenious scams. The whole chain of events appears to begin with a call for papers for a conference that would never take place and ends with an offer to publish your paper instead, for a price of course. Are you aware that threats like these exists? Or is it just me that I've grown too paranoid?

It is always advisable to check the credential of the organizer/organizing body before jumping into presentation or publication.
