Photogrammetry is the science of making measurements from photographs depending on many mathematical formulas. Finally, a 3D model can be produced in many formats such as FBX, OBJ, etc....
So, how do you think the produced 3D model leverage the industry?

Photogrammetry is already used in progress monitoring on construction sites due to its cost efficiency ( c.f. Scaioni et al., 2014). In addition, a practical example of its application of the integrated solution is merging 3D terrestrial laser scan data with photogrammetry for post asset inspection purposes (Monserrat and Crosetto, 2008). El-Omari and Moselhi (2009) have for example demonstrated improved site progress capture and monitoring with the combination of photogrammetry, laser scanned point cloud data and post processing software PHIDIAS. As these technologies continue to coalesce, the management of built environment assets will become increasingly reliant upon automated asset capture to fully exploit a vast array of structured geometric and semantic data extricable from a automatically generated 3D model (or mesh). Photogrammetry as such, offers to expand the current capabilities of facilities managers during O&M of assets within the built environment and in turn, improve business profitability and performance.
