Recently, Augmented Reality (AR) is entering the field of the construction management along with other fields. In the construction industry, it is used to explore a new era of integrating the Building Information Modeling as an example during project’s life cycle phases with the real world to enhance the interaction, considering different aspects of construction projects.
A possible use of Augmented Reality in the construction management field is the investigation of historical buildings using non-invasive tools (e.g. thermography) displaying the resulting anslysis directly through Augmented Reality.

There is certainly potential. There has already been work on using AR to manage installation of cables and other items into buildings. Also as the previous poster pointed out when you combine it with non-invasive techniques to visualise building data etc. If used properly with decent user friendly tools it could play a good role in simplifying/visualising complex data sets in building, allowing improved collaboration between actors. As ever though user needs first tech second!
