In an aircraft power system, the frequency of the generators are 400Hz instead of 50/60Hz on earth to be more compact and less weight. How can I find the parameters of similar power synchronous generator at 400Hz from a 50/60Hz one?
400 Hz machines have different magnetic materials and geometry, so parameters estimation is not very accuracy. Each AC machine have own specific operational frequency (base frequency), defined to EMF calculation. However they could operate usually from 0,1f to 2f, highest efficiency and power density archive at f, due to that can't change geometry according to f. Actually they need less magnetic core for higher frequency.
Actually one need to arrive at a new set of parameters for AC machines used in aircraft...like speed, power density, frequency, core losses- all getting increased.Voltage level being different gives you different v/f and you can somehow compare the two cases if you keep this ratio constant. Weight saving needs to be specially taken care off to save precious ATF with contradictory requirement of mounting near aircraft engine (high temperatue zone).
