I'm about to grow Mycobacteria bovis BCG strain using a hybridisation oven, which I have never done before. Just wondering if anyone could give me some tips on using a hybridisation oven? Such as what is the speed normally used? How much culture to put in a hybrid tube (1/5 of the tube volume or more)? Any tips or suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
The nutrient media for mycobacterial growth are well known. Answer of your queries are available in internet. I give you one proposal. In the nutrient media you may add iron in ferric form and exochelins I. e. mycobactin and hydroxamate. You might get exuberant growth of mycobacteria. The papers of this researcher on tuberculosis may be gone through.
Hybridization oven is meant for proper culture of mycobacteria using optimum heat, humidity etc. for ongoing study of nucleic acid hybridization in mycobacteria. We might get more relevant information on the facts of DNA and RNA of mycobacteria.
