**Abstract:**

This research proposal seeks to explore the potential therapeutic effects of pleasant olfactory stimuli on dopamine activation and episodic memory in individuals exhibiting symptoms of depression. Drawing on emerging evidence from the intersections of neuroscience, psychology, and clinical applications, the study aims to fill a critical gap in understanding cognitive impairments associated with depression. The multidisciplinary approach incorporates participant recruitment, neuroimaging techniques, and standardized memory assessments to elucidate the complex interplay between olfactory stimuli, dopamine pathways, and memory functions. This research could significantly contribute to the development of non-pharmacological interventions for the cognitive symptoms of depression.
