I don't think cancelling the 2nd semester is a wise call, besides in LMD system the student has to succeed in all semesters so s/he can have his Degree.

I think the best way, since the students are taking online classes, is to evaluate them via homeworks, tests, projects, etc. This is more safer for the students and teachers; however, it may lessen the credibility of the test taker as we can never be sure who really answered it.

I think just Universities in developing countries stopped teaching the second semester whereas Universities in developed countries continued delivering online lectures and used online tests to assess their students in the second semester. In my University, students are going to continue the second semester in August.

According to your query, I think passing the semester without assessment hurts the academic Institutions and Students for the in reliabile treatment they follow.

In my university, we are about to finish teaching the second semester online for bachelor students, and we are in the process of examining higher studies students.

I think that the best solution is to adopt the blended learning (face to face teaching + online teaching) in order to achieve at least 80% of the required sessions. In my institution, now we are conducting some virtual classes and explaining some lessons. In September, there will be some face to face sessions (with online courses of course) before we can carry out the exams.

The dominant idea is still evaluation by grades (degrees & Scores) and distinction between students by those grades, in fact we need innovative and creative ideas and solutions to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their creativity. Open book tests and electronic tests that measure the basic general capabilities required for the next stage.

I completely agree with you because we must think outside the box about new methods and methods of evaluation.

Unfortunately that is the case :( They did not even ask to teachers.. Governments let students pass without even asking course teachers opinions. Ok we are all passing from a difficult situation because of the Pandemic but raising students marks is not a solution.

Indeed, I agree with you. We have encountered some cases related to the lack of credibility of the evaluation, but there is no other alternative, especially if the evaluation tools technicians are done.

Yes! Government took this decision and I think it snot a bad idea ...basically students performance is not based on final exams result it is his overall performance of the year
