I am currently doing a dissertation on the security of BIM models in Digital Construction and I need to find information on this topic. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Can I recommend an approach of BIM digital security which looks at the end-to-end use and benefit from using BIM, and the corresponding risks, with a threat model on such benefits.
Then you can structure a cyber-methodology.
First come the Threat categories:
- LTE
L for life risk
physical harm to people (collapse of building, fire, etc)
T for theft, economic harm (destruction of value, etc)
E for ecosystem reputation
(fake news, etc)
Then you build scenarios which an adversary might plan against your BlM assets.
After this you can evaluate cyberdefense, protection, response mechanisms.
The semantics is clear by construction, you just have to put in place the cybersecurity, almost by the book.
