Actually, before this question I had no idea about such method "The Michel Thomas Method"...so, thanks Dr. Hamid for a nice and useful question.

Well, what I am gonna to say about my experience in learning English language will be when I went to complete my PhD studies in UK ...in that time I was so afraid to say any word but after a while more than one month, noticed a good progress in my language level even my flatmates had noticed that.

During that period, I was in need to:

1- Get rid of afraid during speech .

2- The self- confident which I got it by surround myself in English.

As well as (Practise) its so important to improve your skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Person can learn language with out going to school by insert him with the general society to got experience of learn the slang for that community or to learn the language of the public street through the interactions as you and dr Amir and many others fellow say's that previously, but I think that may gave him experience to speak well after a long time of living, but with out considerations for the grammars of these languages.
