The sample size will certainly influence the test result.

Larger samples will increase sensitivity but larger sample will decrease resolution.

An example of influence sample size on indium Melt (http://www4.ncsu.edu/~lalucia/courses/WPS-595B-BIOMATERIALS-CHARACTERIZATION/DSC.pdf)

Weight (mg) Onset C Peak C Width

0.49 156.41 156.56 0.17

1.21 156.45 156.76 0.29

5.70 1 56.61 157.17 0.55

Please provide more examples on influence sample size on the test result especially for glass. We would like know how significant the influence of sample size for glass.

We have glass fragment as received material.

If we cut the glass fragment into small pieces if how big the difference will be (if there is any)I n testing result to test a single piece of fragment or to test two or three smaller fragments in the same mass with a single piece of fragment

We need find a method to achieve same sample size for each test. If there is a manual or instruction on the method of sample preparation?
