The wheels in grit blast machine work in a condition constantly on the impact of abrasive particle and the material will wear out very quickly. What is the best material can stand longer in this condition. (Material with the highest wear resistant under this condition?)
Grit blast is an old process; high speed steel particles (round or angler particles) hit the surface of material to remove the oxide scale etc. The machine operates in room temperature. However there may be some increase in temperature due to the impact energy.
Assuming that abrasive particles are used the route will be using hard materials or coatings. The hard materials having good wear resistance against abrasives may be high-chromium white cast irons. The coatings may be clad using weld deposition process and powder mixtures containing tungsten carbide and a binde based on Co, Mn or Ni.
WC coating may works. However the key factor is to allow a given wear resistant material to work in specific working conditions.

The wheels in blast machine is very big (2 meters long and 250 mm in diameter) If there is any manufacture will coating WC in such big components?
We used electron beam surfacing by WC-contaiing powder mixture to form a composite coating on a low carbon steel. Also it was found out that argon weld deposition worked well for hammer grinder hammers which operates under the same condition as the blasting machine. The weld deposition may be used to protect only the most worn working surfaces like blades. Also it gives you thick coating. However, the WC particles should be incorporated into a ductile matrix for example austenite one. In this case we used Mn or Ni.
