The idea of believing in the existence of God comes from the idea that you have existence not only within the boundaries of the material world, but also you have another existence in the spiritual world, which is the spirit world.
The problem is not whether someone believes in God or not but the way some barbaric systems force this belief through pain and terror. Why can't we be civilised and discuss the notion of God without forcing others to believe in our own beliefs?
In Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for example, you are likely to be sentenced to prison for 10 years just for stating your opinion on the way you believe in God. This is ridiculous and is most likely to backfire and make people even more repulsive towards God. Until we provide people with a safe environment to speak freely, there is no point in discussing God or religion because the wrong answer could get you killed.
spirituality is constructed by and large on stories, each often with narrative flourish. Ther first genuine literature in Sumer began by describing an alternative world inhabited by gods and also by describing those gods. We all accept they are not real. The gods inhabited one dimension and human beings inhabited another more shadowy one. The world of gods was more real than that of human beings. Spirituality entered the picture at the end of the 3rd millennium with the introduction of private and public prayer. The old Sumer would have understood modern spirituality.
In ancient and even modern times, depicting deities is based on imagination, so depicting them in an artificial spiritual form is not realistic, we are talking about a god that is not made from the fantasies or perceptions of human beings, we are talking about a Creator God, a Blessed Deity, a Deity of the Creator of the Spirit that is in ourselves.
All religions and civilizations from the creation of mankind until now have fantasies and imaginations about God that are, in fact, illusions.
The idea of a deity independent of existence is in fact an idea that needs evidence, and for this we have the right to ask: Who is the one who makes this existence go through life, who is the one who determines this dies and the one who lives, who is the one who sustains creation ... etc.
When you state that we are not talking about a God that is made from fantasies but about a creator God, you should keep in mind that others might also count your God as a fantasy. They believe in their Gods as much as you do in your own God. Also, you did not acknowledge my response regarding the limitations that surround Muslims in answering this question. Is a Muslim allowed to disagree with you? It's as if you're asking a question and you only want a specific answer to it.
2. Forward Reasoning: Revelations from God itself.
Backward reason can be very useful but is not conclusive.
and to claim that all revelations are merely fantasies is the height of skepticism.
The common understanding of God as some supreme power as a cosmic provider, CREATOR GOD,
well that kind of conception of GOD, that he is some supreme power through which everything in this universe is going on and we are getting all these facilities to work and enjoy...doesn’t it provide an image of GOD who has got nothing to do with us rather just provide us the living condition and being a mere observer and to some extent it forms a kind of image of a SERVANT... God is my servant who has created this whole cosmos for my enjoyment?? Do you really think that this impersonal aspect of God is all that there is?
God must be a person, then only he is complete.
Now how to know more about that person, his activity, and his purpose for his descend in this world is a different subject in itself.
The interesting thing the idea of believing in the existence of God is that although the physical science is based upon physical observation of physical world and majority rules as common sense, it fails to recognize that the majority of people believe in some sort of creator. Isn't that rejection of a observation through senses? And if we reject this observation of the senses, we challenge the basic assumption of science, which is based upon the observation of senses.
Belief in God's existence is a matter of choice amid those elects and reprobates, theists and atheists. It is absolutely unnecessary to compel people to believe what you have believed. You can preach your doctrine and allow them to decide.
The reasons why individuals and nations have come to believe in God or in a god (in polytheism) must surely be many -- the perception that the great and positive things in nature suggest or demand a power beyond nature, the desire to have conquests and oppression sanctioned by a war god, and many others. However, today a notable phenomenon is the denial, real or practical, of any power outside of nature, the assertion of some scientists and literati that belief in any truth beyond the power of reason is unacceptable. Together with these we have the millions who firmly believe in God and religious practice. In the modern debate, for Christians the existence of God is a belief, as expressed in the Letter to the Hebrews: the conviction of things unseen. It is a divine gift, not a human achievement, which can give a certainty, a conviction, beyond what human reason or creative imagination can give.

As a Christian, I believe that in fact my material existence is the place where God meets me in Jesus the Christ. I do not have two existences, but one only, as a creature in a world created by a benevolent creator. God has revealed Himself within this creation as Jesus, and accompanies us in our lives of faith as the Holy Spirit. Mohammed Jawad Kadhum Alsalami
Very interesting! In the Bible I read, in Colossians 3:1-4 there is a description that makes me "understand" what you say! It is as if you can be in two places at the same time, when Christ comes, you (living on the earth now, if that is the case) will appear with Him. I interpret it as the real identity of the Christian, in Christ and as your "spiritual" identity. In my understanding of what Christ did for us I make much of what I call the spiritual reality.

All the heavenly books - whether the Torah, the Bible or the Qur'an - mentioned that
all existence was created by God, including the prophets, peace be upon them, such as the Prophet Moses, the Prophet Jesus, and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon them.
That is why all creation, including the prophets, peace be upon them, are among the manifestations of the material world, but all human beings, including the prophets, peace be upon them, have another world from which they came and to which they return, a world devoid of matter, a world devoid of material nature.
Secondly, my belief is not an idea. It is what it is - a belief. Something outside the realms of proof. And I do not have any idea of another existence in parallel to my current reality on earth. There is none. Both my material and immaterial selves (duality) are existing concurrently in my current conscious state of being. If I change form by transition, I discard the material part of me, renew my soul and reincarnate again by taking up a new material body. This is to enable me continue with my soul evolutionary process of learning and unlearning until I attain perfection. Once achieved, I become a coworker with God helping humanity and God towards the realization of the kingdom of God on earth. This is in line with the initial purpose of creation - thy kingdom come.
Brother Joseph Osubor..."If I change form by transition???"
Do you believe in reincarnation?
Is it possible to "become a coworker" in Creation prior to discarding the material body? Is it possible to renew the Soul prior to discarding the material body?
Is it possible to help mankind elevate with God's power and wisdom (Christ) prior to reincarnation?
@أ. م. د. محمد جواد كاظم السلامي What worlds lie beyond the one we see and navigate we are not given to know. Our lord Jesus Christ was the beginning of a new creation. This new creation is spirit-filled, but not spiritual only. Jesus Christ, when He was raised from the dead, had a physical body, a new one, but a physical one. And in the New Testament of the Bible we are told there will be one day a new heaven and a new earth. This means that material creation matters, and will one day be created anew to last forever.
The most likely source for the belief in the existence of God is most likely based on the consistent accounts of trusted individuals who have had a Near Death Experience or a Near Death Like Experience. Some people are also able to provide convincing evidence that they are able to communicate with deceased individuals, both known to them and unknown to them, but known to another person who can verify details.
These experiences are available to all persons, without regard to any specific form of religious belief.. Further acceptance of these events as being based in reality is not required of any specific individual, so that belief in God, or lack thereof is an individual choice.
Our arrival on this earth remains due to the existence of our mother which loving grace & kindness help us to start our movement of life .With the passage of time kindness & grace come to us with the passage of love ,symbolling the existence of god .
This experience comes to every individual from the within due to grace of god but due to development of unhealthy environment within us offer us the negative symbolling effect .With the result life becomes a mixture of joy ,tears & unhealthy environment .
