Recently installed a single-phase rotary compressor in an HVAC system. The compressor is controlled through a magnetic contactor with an A1/A2 coil operating with a single-phase power supply. The problem is as the magnetic contactor closes the circuit, the compressor gives a buzzing sound and doesn't start, but after a few seconds, ~30sec time starts normally. There isn't any issue with the capacitor, wiring and magnetic contactor. Why does it not start as soon as the magnetic contactor closes the circuit?
What's the issue?
Based on the mass of the rotating parts, there could be an inertia which could be a reason.

Have you simultaneously monitored the high and low side pressures as you try to start the compressor? If there is a substantial pressure difference before you apply electrical power this will make it more difficult for the compressor to get up to speed.
