Remember to take business cards along and exchange them so you can keep touch afterwards and follow-up on conversations in sharing resources and knowledge.
Dear @Mohamed, here is one fine resource, as well as some fine research questions related to your question. I do see that you have a few questions regarding conferences.
Academic Conferences: Updating, Networking and Rock n’ Roll!
Approach speakers afterwards to discuss their presentations. After giving my first conference presentation, I was approached by a speaker from a different university who has a shared interest in my topic and we have not only kept in touch but have collaborated on an article.
Introduce yourself to people during the breaks etc, and if you know people there already introduce them to your travelling companions/colleagues who might not know them.
Enjoy the atmosphere and be pro-active in talking to others.
The academic conferences are effective way for networking, what are the most important means for networking at conferences?
Some of the means / methods of networking in academic conferences include:
brainstorm with other presenters & attendees on research area / idea with similar interest - this can help verify & broaden our original thoughts on certain research topics / approach etc.
network with an open mind - to scout around what are the latest / profound research area / idea you never thought about that you can list down as your future research engagements.
willingness to share your knowledge & experience (don't just take only but also giving) - so that other networkers / researchers / scholars can appreciate your values, mutually exchange ideas & explore opportunities to collaborate in future research works.
