Most soils are well-known as a material that incapable to sustain tension. However, it is of interest if we can know the soil tensile strength and tensile stiffness properties. It would be wonderful if someone could share some information about how to obtain the above properties or if there are some correlations to obtain those properties.

@ Ignatius, the tensile strength of a soil is the maximum amount of stress that it can be subjected before failure while tensile stiffness properties is the ratio of the stress along an axis over the strain along that axis.
