I have been using Tecplot for decades. It's a great tool. I don't think it will do what you're asking and there's no way to make it. This seems like a very strange requirement. Do you understand the difference between a drawing object and an image and know that Tecplot can produce either type. For example, if you copy a chart from Excel into Word, you can either paste it as a bitmap or as a metafile. The bitmap is just an image, while the metafile contains every line drawn, triangle, circle, and character. Also, never save a drawing as a JPEG, as this is a lossy format and does not preserve the detail (sharp lines and corners). JPEG is only suitable for photographs and should never be used for anything else, just as AVIs are only suitable for YouTube videos of cats. GIFs are the format of choice for charts and graphs, whether there is one frame or many, as it is lossless. PNGs are also an option, but there are so many different types and you may not be able to control which you get. There is more than one type of metafile, but the most common are only recognized by MS Office and useless for everything else. Tecplot will produce a Raster Metafile, but these are not true metafiles and are similar to GIFs. You can't work with a metafile with Excel or Word, but PowerPoint will do a very few things. In order to work with a metafile, you would need something like Corel, as even Paint Shop only handles images and converts metafiles to images before doing anything with them. Tecplot and TP2 will create an HGL file, which is a pen plotter format. While you won't be using a pen plotter, it contains the lines, which can be manipulated--something you can't do with the other available formats. Perhaps if I had the exact requirements and the data I could create the necessary figures. Presumably, others submitting to the same forum are able to accomplish this. Just please tell me it's not LaTex. If it is, find some other place to publish your work.

My "strange requirement" is due to some journal thickness specifications (see the picture attached). I also want uniformity between all my graphics independent of the graphic size, and the % Tecplot unit always changes the thickness depending on the graphic size.

I use only figures in vector format, like pdf format.

Therefore, How do I know that my lines have a specific (in points) thickness value? and are according to a journal line specification (see figure).

What you mention is right. Tecplot does not allow you to set the lines thicknesses directly in points. However, there is a trick that may help you fulfill the requirements of the editors. The easiest way is to set the size of your picture when you export it (the size is always expressed in points). So, having the size of the picture and the percentage properly chosen for the lines, axes, 3D orientation axis and so on, you may get the thickness you are looking for. I have always done this and had no bad feedback from the publishers. BTW, I always save my pictures in tiff format.

You are correct. However, taking into consideration that Tecplot can do a lot of useful things, we may accept that from time to time we need to "play games" with it.
