I am doing a systematic review and meta-analysis where my subject of interest are the staff nurses. In one study which i am including in the review, the subjects are the doctors and the nurses. Can I just take the report of nurses from this particular study and include in my review and meta-analysis? is this possible?
If the data are relevant to your review & analysis , they can be included .
I agree with the opinion above. If met the inclusion criteria, it could be included. After getting a primary outcome, sensitivity analysis excluding this article should be done. If heterogeneity is too serious due to mixture of outcomes with doctors and nurses, it should be excluded. Making a strict inclusion criteria or somewhat general criteria could affect the overall results of systematic review and meta-analysis.
If the data is separated into nurses and doctors you could just use the nurses data. Is that what you meant?
You can include it but remember to only perform meta-analysis if you have sufficient homogenous studies.
