Science involves challenging the status quo and being willing to ask difficult questions. Scientists need to be curious but also unbiased (not intent on proving any preconceived preferred result but open to accepting any conclusion that is supported by the evidence). There is no research that suggests that women are capable of the orgasms described in erotic fiction. Yet not even female sexologists are willing to discuss the issues that surround our understanding of women’s responsiveness.
Not being an expert on erotic fiction, nor a woman, nor do I have empircal experience to justify sweeping generalizations, I cannot say much about your hypothesis.
However I can say that you can be as original as you like, just as long as you include the following statement somehwere at the end "Further research is required".
This acheives two objectives, you fake modesty and humbleness and you assure future funding. No debate on any issue must ever be closed.
What debate? I have found none in the area of sexology! I talk to myself mostly because everyone is too embarrassed to engage or simply not interested. But I keep trying... Sexologists do not seem to welcome an alternative point of view. They prefer to promote fantasies about female responsiveness rather than the research finding - that women orgasm alone rather than with a lover.
Thanks Ghadah for your support! I really appreciate it. I am providing the research findings that are based on talking to women in the population. These findings have been ignored because they do not confirm male fantasies. I have found that many people find them helpful in understanding their relationships with the opposite sex.
