There is still a controversy on the suicide of dentists ,The public still thinks dentists have a high rate of suicide . i do remember years ago i read a study done in temple university(i think ) which dispelled this fact about the dentists.The question is do dentist have a high rate of suicide?

We are funny and happiest people, even been poor we try to find the light side of the life and move on to reach the prosperity and happy for ours. So I don't thing that we have a high rate of suicide.....

since i have visited Cuba many times in my life and visited almost all the medical schools in Havana from the north in Havana to the south (Santiago de Cuba) for a statistical study on preventive health measures used in in Cuba's medicine i agree with you that Cuban physicians and dentist are happy (i think). Unfortunately this is not the case in North america at least Canada and USA .Many people tend to bring this topic but i really feel that i read a study some where showing that dentist suicide rate matches the general average rate but i cannot verify it . In addition do not forget i also have no idea if other countries do have the same experience of dentist suicide???
One important point i can mention is that here in Canada the news paper generally hardly ever mentions this topic it is a big Taboo.
so i hope to hear from many of my colleagues around the world their point of view and and an answer to the main Question which is : Are the dentist rate of suicide high in their own country or similar to the average general population rate.
