Clone your gene of interest with any GFP, CFP, mRFP, tdTomato, etc tag at N or C-terminal in a binary vector and check localization by Agroinfiltration.

I think in situ hybridisation is also a nice alternative. Using a RNA probe (if available) that has a fluorescent tag, it allows detection at native level of gene expression and regulation. However, it is more dependent on the transcript level in the sample.
