In women with ectopic pregnancy treated with methotrexate, most undergo a routine post-treatment set of bloods - hCG on day 1, day 4, and day 7. The ratio of hCG from day 4/7 is used to determine whether a repeat dose of methotrexate is necessary or not. Our team has retrospectively applied a different post-treatment set of hCG levels/ratios to determine whether there ay be an equivalent or better post-treatment approach than the traditional protocol. The success of the novel protocol in predicting the outcome was assessed using sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV. Would it be appropriate to call this a retrospective diagnostic accuracy study or is there a better way to describe this in our manuscript?

Thank you

Mathew
