I am carrying out some investigations on the photodegradation of methylene blue under solar irradiation. the catalyst used is crushed CuO.

Before irradiation, the organic pollutant and the catalyst are put in the dark for 30 min to reach equilibrium. I would like to know when to add inorganic ions for my experiment? before or after the 30 min? Thank you for your contributions
