I am currently investigating fluid inclusion (s.l.) in garnet. As far as I am aware of different papers on diamond inclusions in garnet from UHP terranes, I have seen that diamond hues ranges from slight yellow to uncolored in transmitted light, uncrossed polars. My question is: what about crossing polars? Diamond is isotropic, but as it is included in garnet, how does it behave? And what about reflectance and internal reflections of diamond ?
Some diamond inclusions in UHP garnet from Lago di Cignana show good internal reflections, whereas others are indistinguishable from the surrounding garnet in crossed polars. The internal reflections are most pronounced in reflected light with crossed polars.

Vincent, here is a picture of a diamond in reflected light, crossed polars. This one is on filter paper, following acid dissolution of the garnet host. I think it is 10-15 microns across. I hope this helps you.
