This study explores M-type Ba0.4Pb0.6Fe12-xCoxO19 hexaferrites synthesized via the citrate gel auto combustion method and heated at 950 °C for 4 hours for potential lossless applications. XRD analysis indicates the presence of the M-phase, PbM, and hematite, while microstructural analysis reveals hexagonally shaped platelets forming stacking clusters. The TEM image and SAED pattern for x = 0.3 show a polycrystalline nature with particles fused together. Magnetic properties exhibit hard behavior with a maximum saturation magnetization of 55.427 A m2/kg in the x = 0.10 composition, and coercivity varies from 0.058 T to 0.390 T across different compositions. Cobalt substitution significantly influences dielectric properties, with ac conductivity and dielectric constant showing a notable increase from x = 0.00 to x = 0.10, followed by a reduction from x = 0.10 to x = 0.40. The low loss tangent suggests promising applications for lossless purposes.
