I use 1:1000 and it works fine (Streptavidin-Alexa Fluor 647 in my case). You would be safe to use even higher dilution I think, like 1:1200/1500. Hope that helps. 

Depending if you are doing sections or whole-mount tissue. 

I use 1:300 or 1:500. But sometimes green channel has a lot of background, so most of the times I prefer to use Streptavidin-AlexaFluor568.

Anyway, in my opinion, I would try two dilutions, one super concentrated and another one more diluted.

Moreover, I use avidin-biotin blocking before to avoid endogenous biotin in the tissue. This process increases the quality of the staining

Remember that you can re-used the antibody sometimes if you keep it a 4ºC

1:300 or 1:500 its good also you can use Strep-Alexa 488 at 1-2 ug/ml which for vial is about 1:1000.

The more the concentration, the more the background, I think 1:1000 for cells is fine, 1:500 for tissue. Be careful about washing, use PBST, 0.05%, gives cleaner background
