Are you looking at the board/President in terms of stewardship/Agency governance issues? This is addressed in Davis, Schoorman, and Donaldson (1997). Specifically look at the Principal-Manager choice model and the potential conflicts if the Board/President have an agency-stewardship or stewardship -agency alignment. A good tool to assess the level of stewardship was developed by Craig, Dibrell, Neubaum, and Thomas (2011). I used this tool in my dissertation.
