I am currently looking for data on psychological research. I am interested in -current and previous- prevalence of methodological approaches in psychological research (e. g. the proportion of survey based/observational/etc. research in psychological research). Any suggestions/recommendations for already existing statistics on this?

(Though the focus is on mis-reporting of statistical results, the type of analysis might be used to infer the type of study conducted.)

Thanks a lot for your answer! Articles #1-#3 you mention, I had found, too. Although they were a good start, they were not really sufficing for my purpose...(due to the exact same reasons you mentioned). I actually hadn't found #4, so I'll have a look into it more in detail and for a historical perspective it's definitely nice! Many thanks for posting it.
I am keen if anyone else still has a clue if there's current data available somewhere or maybe working on something.

I am interested in the same kind of data with regard to sociology journals, so I did a Google search on articles that had cited the Alise & Teddlie article over the past 5 years. Sadly, I did not find anything that addressed the relative prevalence of different methods in either psychology or sociology.
