I have a data in which both independent & dependent variables are categorical with repeated measures. I want to compare the within group & between group analysis. KIndly suggest me the statistical test which I can apply in this condition (preferably in SPSS).

You can also do generalised estimating equations (GEE) - population averaged model. It will help you do both within- and between-group analysis.

Simple analyses for dependent categorical variables are McNemar test and Cochran Q test.

For anything more complicated than that, you will want to use logistic regression or multinomial logistic regression. You may need a mixed-effects (logistic or multinomial) model to account for the repeated measures. It is sometimes difficult to find software to handle these models easily.

Another approach is to treat the dependent variable as a proportion. In this case you can use logistic regression or beta regression. Again, this may get complicated.
Sometimes it is easier to reduce the model to simpler tests.
Also, you will have to check what kind of modeling SPSS can do for categorical data.

I believe the answer depends upon whether your variables are nominal or ordinal. Assuming they are ordinal, the technique I would recommend for repeated measures is Friedman's ANOVA. I'm not sure whether there is a technique for an nonparametric mixed (within and between) ANOVA.
