Does anyone have knowledge or experience dealing with the effects of testosterone, estrogen and/or aromatase inhibitors on squamous cell cancer of the thymus. We are involved in a case where the liquid biopsy tested positive for both estrogen and androgen receptors.and are trying to understand the possible connection and therapeutic implication
I suggest the following approach In additiona a drug such as Faslodex which disrupts the estrogen receptor may be considered

Thank you Aleck. I am very familiar with your groundbreaking work. Your assumption seems to be that the estrogen receptor plays more of a negative role than does the androgen receptor. Would you be aware of any work supporting this theory (which may make sense)? Thanks, Moshe

Thank you Stacy for your input. The reference you provided related to ER beta, and it is conceivable that is protective (as it is in some other cancers where ER alpha is problematic). My assumption is that the lab tested for ER alpha but I am in process of confirming this. In this case, blocking ER alpha with fulvestrant - as Aleck suggests - would conceivably not interfere with the protective effects of ER beta.
