Somehow a journal ceased to exist and papers have been published in it. Can the papers be resubmitted elsewhere and can be reconsidered by other journals?
@Manjula That is a problem because if the published papers are not available in the archives, then can not be tracked for citation appearance etc. That basically means the publication is not available to be read, making the opinion as published an issue.
Yes, the new readers cannot use the articles anymore, if they are not appeared at least in print form. This is a problem indeed! I believe that the publisher had to archive the articles at least in an external platform before quitting the job. It is an issue of the publisher's archiving policy. However, I hope you can self archive your publication in digital form in a way others could access it online. I guess there won't be copyright issues since the publisher has disappeared. In my view, resubmitting the same article as a fresh research for another journal is not a good strategy to be taken. Someone may have a copy of your article even if it is not available online!
