I want to know whether dengue is mechanically transmitted or biologically? If mechanically transmitted then why on aedes aegypti mosquito cause dengue why not other species or other type of insect or animals??
Saad Jan Dengue cannot be spread directly from person to person but can be transmitted from and infected person to a non infected mosquito. Transmission of the virus by the mosquito depends on several biological factors of vector which helps the development and transmission of the pathogen. It may be due to the presence of certain proteins that bind to the receptors, virus adaptation, variation in gut barrier proteins and vector biology etc....
Ae. aegypti was a major vector of the Dengue virus transmition to human or other vertebrate. As we know, transmition process has been occurring of first infection of the mosquito at midgut untill slivary glandula before transmited to human. We have to know what kind of infection pattern, Ae.aegypti has a recognition receptor such as CTLMA12 (mannose-binding protein), it's putative protein spesifically for recognition Dengue virus and Aedes aegypti.
