I am new using Ellipsometry and this tool is now intended to be used for determining the film thickness of SnO2. Data acquisition is simple but developing a model is very subjective. I have several samples with different oxide thickness and the model for one sample does not work for the other. Each model has a different set of parameters to be fitted but still I am not clear about the physical meaning of some of those parameters and what range of values are acceptable for them to have a physical meaning. When fitting models to data some of those parameters get negative values that should not be. I have read several research papers but so far I have not find any that would guide me toward the right path. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
