I want to simulate the phase change of an PCM. The system is composed of two concentric hollow cylinders whose annular space is filled with phase change material. Hot smoke passes inside the small cylinder thus heating the MCP.

What level of fidelity do you require? 0th or 1st order energy model estimates or full detail 3D transient simulation including fluidic motion in both media? What tools and techniques are you familiar with for thermal and/or fluid flow modeling?
