Hi, normally, undergraduates are trained on writing reports and making presentations as they lack the knowledge needed for conducting researches and the different methodologies used unless they have to author a graduation project. However, in some cases of students whose specialty is related to practical sciences, gifted students surpass their level and (sometimes coauthored with their supervisors) can publish impressive articles.

I agree with Aida. Normally, undergraduate students are writing assignments which do not translate well into journal articles. As an active reviewer for over 40 journals, I can usually spot early on that a submitted manuscript is most likely a student assignment. Also, undergraduate students are also not usually collecting primary data - so they are more likely restricted to writing narratives i.e. integrative reviews, concept analysis, discourse analysis etc. Undergraduate students could submit these types of manuscripts - but most journals prefer primary research papers over them.

usually undergraduate students do not have the time or enough knowledge to write are search paper for a science journal, but sometimes, in the third or fourth year of studies, if they are exceptional students , they can collaborate with their professor (adviser) and send a paper to a science journal.

They dont have the skills to do good research work that can be published but you can encourage them to try to get more familiar with research writing and to gain confidence and ecperience by time

In general, undergraduate students "of today" are not competent enough to conduct & publish research of reasonable quality. However, every rule has an exception "of course, except this rule !!".

If there are talented outstanding students, then research publishing is possible but even these students need some help from their teachers.
