Students lose out in terms of lab work, university experiences, and face to face interactions with lecturers due to this pandemic. So should students be compensated accordingly?
If they are going fully online, then yes they should refund something like 25% of the tuition of the second semester because students are not using the full facilities on campus.
Dear Michael Halim, I believe that all public (i.e. state) schools of every order and grade including universities must always be exempt from any type of tax for all students, i.e. education must be free for all, regardless of the current pandemic or other contingent events. It must be the State through general taxation that provides for the education costs of all its citizens. The cost to the State of not properly educating all its citizens, in my opinion, is much higher than the cost of educating all.
