Or should they just accept the new world order: an increasing wealth divide, the rise of the super-rich and the super-paid public servant, and the facilitation of it all through ambivalent liberalism and hijacked populism.
Its a conservative government at the moment. I would argue that the underlying trend, among the 'lecturing demographic' is a liberal one, in which people think about their own personal circumstances, and the idea of banding together, and standing up for something does not come that easily.
(We have a lecturers strike going on at the moment. Its the first time i have felt strongly about the need for a worker's Union, and i'm interested in other perspectives, from lecturers, on it. Perhaps we are well paid, and should be able to take the latest cut, a cut in pension?)
