My topic is "the Influence of Personality Traits on Smartphone Usage" and this is for my thesis as I am a final year student at university. I calculated Pearson's r for Extraversion and smartphone usage. The r= .084 and the two tail was .471 and n=75. What is the p value and your interpretation of these results?
The low value you got for the correlation and the high p value (.471) indicates that it is not significant. You would use a two two-tailed test if you did not have an initial hypothesis about whether the correlation was either negative or positive, i.e., that the correlation between Extraversion and smartphone usage could go either way.
But before you get too discouraged, I would recommend running a scatter plot to see if there were any unexpected problems with your data.

The usual format for reporting a p value is at the .05 level, i.e., one chance in 20. The significance at p , .01 or p < .001 would guaranteedly be less than that.
I ask you to show a table of correlation values. Only then will it be possible to answer your question.
