The first person who reach the site of trauma, or to see a heart attack patient or everybody living with a possibility of facing a major disaster anywhere and anytime is inevitable. Poor primary care i.e., first aid at the site of trauma in the shape of wrong method of evacuation, inability to assess a collapsing patient with heart attack usually doesn't allow many patient to reach hospital alive. Definitely majority of such patients do not reach hospital alive or if they do so major damage has been done. So i believe basic life support and first aid like training courses be made mandatory from early schooling. How do you feel about that?
Mandatory subject training will help us save many lives or at least reduce damage to patients
First aid must be taught at school level to reduce preventable ailments and improve knowledge and skills about health and disease education of kids from younger age; that will ultimately transform them into a responsible individuals.

Children can learn and perform basic life support skills with reasonable accuracy. CPR training should be provided to all school children after 6th grade.Govt has to play role in it to implement it.

Yes, owning to the benefit it has to save lives in time of emergency. In Nigeria, it has has been included in the Basis Education curriculum.
Basic life support should be mandatory in school and basic trauma care should be made madatory before driving license. Compression only life support can be taught as a community outreach programme for general public.
In most if not all states in the US, students completing secondary school (prior to university), are required to complete a first aid and CPR course. Utilizing the information in the community is a different and more complex issue.
Students in most states in the US may take a CPR course but even first level Am. Red Cross first aide is not a requirement for graduation, at least not that I know. Those who agree that increasing the basic information for citizen responders at the high school and college levels are encouraged to send the article on this to their local representatives and, if in high school, local educators. Universities need to be encouraged to assure this type of training is part of the required curriculum.
I strongly agree that first aid skills should be included in the syllabus for school students as they are the ones who are readily available at home and outside home too and they can be a best help for victims of accidents and above all Cardiac arrest victims. First aid course must be made compulsory for all the students of. School. Best idea!
There is no doubt that all these skills should be taught to school students. Rather we should discuss which skill to be introduced at what level. I think at the secondary school level, first aid should be taught. At the higher secondary level trauma evacuation, initial community care of stroke, heart attack, poisoning; and basic life support skills required for cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be taught.
