If a journal accept to offer his pages to the organizers of a Meeting to publish the papers presented in such Meeting without having the responsability to peer-review them, in a Supplement of the journal, should we give a doi number to the papers, just to the Meeting itself or should not give doi because we did not peer-review them?
If a journal assigns DOIs to the papers, it should do it for all. There is no connection between DOIs and peer review. DOIs are just numbers for the identification of digital objects and do not reflect quality criteria.
I personally think you should never present your data at meetings and keep it confidential until the results are published in high impact journals since these days there is so much fraudulent activity in this arena :)
Deep end for a paper there is no trouble for a DOI. Conference papers might have a DOI. Maybe you might refer to a data set.?

i think there is no correlation between DOI and peer review.....peer reviewed paper may be either having DOI or not... and this DOI does not reflects any quantitative or qualitative criteria...
DOI is an ID # for the article, only. There is no harm in giving DOI number in proceedings of congresses and/or symposiums.
