Don't restrict yourself to disciplinary journals. If you have an interesting development question, rigorous study design and analysis, and policy-relevance, go for higher impact journals that are inherently cross-disciplinary, like Nature Food, PNAS, JDS and more.

I fully agree with Patrick. I would just like to add that generally these journals also accept and publish "Letter to the Editor". Therefore if your short paper can be set as "Letter to the Editor" it could be another viable solution.

Patrick Webb Your suggestion is very valid. I think you´re right. We need to be much more focused on the themes in the choice of magazines and not on their listing. Your message is also a stimulus and encouragement for me. I´ve never thought of newspapers so top-notch for my articles. Thank you very much.
