Yes, this should change the initial viscosity by "breaking the order" that can be achieved with spherical particles.
What is certainly more influential in my opinion is the size of these particles.

By using spherical particles and if the concentration is large enough, it is reasonable to believe that they will organize spatially in a compact way, which is unlikely to occur with anisotropic particles (which could break the"order" obtained with spherical ones).
As said, this also depends on the concentration?
Philippe Vergne the concentration of the particles is same yet the viscosity of anisotropy is lower than spherical one. Can this relate to the effect of particle shape? I am thankful if you can suggest any paper for my reference.
