So I'm trying to use mathcad to calculate the refractive index (n) of a simulated metamaterial. The equation for the real part of n relies on a branching integer m. Where changing m (m only needs to go up by 1 for each time the branch changes) can be used to prevent any discontinuities in n. I realise this question is quite broad but could anyone direct me to information about setting a tolerance for the specfic change in n, which when breached, would automatically adjust m leading to a constant of n?
